Introducing the next level in pigment ink technology Utilizing
a unique three level black ink technology,
Epson UltraChrome K3
ink significantly improves overall gray balance while enhancing midtone
and highlight detail yielding a smoother tonal range. And by virtually
eliminating metamerism (the factors that can contribute to a color
appearing different under differing circumstances) and bronzing, both
black and white and color prints can be produced with the look and feel
of a traditional photograph while utilizing all the advantages of a

We tested 17 Professional Dye Sub Photo Printers, starting at $150 to $2890. Some are very similar; some are indeed very different and unique. Of course, depending on what you are planning to do, you should look at different aspects of those professional photo printers. If you are a professional photographer with substantial profit margins you might be looking more at quality and functionality, where as if you are a retail outlet you might be more interested in cost per print, speed and multiple image sizes. In order to be objective and impartial, we focused in characteristics that could be measured: Cost per Print and Speed. (To read complete version click here) |

What memory card should you choose? Removable storage has been around almost as long as computers themselves. Early removable storage was based on magnetic tapes. Before that, some computers even used paper punch cards to store information. Obviously, that's something most of you never experienced. But the point is that, removable storage is something none of us can live without these days. (To read complete version click here) |

Wi-Pics: More than wireless photograph transmission When we first heard of the Wi-Pics system we couldn’t wait to try it out. We had so many customers in the event and tourism photo industry asking for a wireless system which could transfer images instantly and code them in such a way they could retrieve them easily. And it was exactly what the people at Dice America were telling us the Wi-Pics did. (To read complete version click here) |

What is the best Dye Sublimation Printer for 8x10 Event and Portrait Photography? Event and Portrait photography are now benefiting from the progress made by dye sublimation printers. Not only do these printers revolutionize the photo portrait and event industry, but they are incredibly affordable for what they do, and for the income they can generate. Today we will be looking at the four best dye sublimation printers on the market: Mitsubishi CP-3020DU, Kodak 1400, Kodak 9810 and Sony UPD70A.
All four
dye sub printers offer print sizes in 8x10 and 8x12 as
well as A4 for the
Kodak 1400.
All of these printers also offer the possibility to print
multiple images on one sheet. All of them use dyesub technology, which means no ink cartridge, no chemicals, but only a ribbon and the paper which always come together in a pack. All the prints are water resistant and supposed to last “a lifetime”. Identification pictures: A lucrative business for the photo retailer Until recently, one of the major draw backs was that, you didn´t know what you were going to get until the famous Polaroid print revealed itself.
Already printed images would not be satisfactory due to too much or
too little light, subjects eyes being closed, or general
dissatisfaction with the image captured. Also, the consumable cost was
high due to waste. No more wasted pictures. Now the photo retailer does not print until they have a good clear image. This helps to ensure that the photo is the right one, and that the customer is satisfied with it. The cost per print as well has dropped dramatically, making the I.D. and passport business more affordable than ever. This week´s newsletter will be comparing 4 photo systems, which offer the latest in digital ID technology: The Sony UPX-C200 system, the Mitsubishi Digital Instant Studio (DIS900), the Polaroid Digital Miniportrait Camera System, and the Fujifilm ID Solution CX-550. | Reviewing the four best Digital Photo Printers for the 4x6 to 5x7 format Four new Professional Photo Printers which offer great possibility!! Depending on what you are planning to do with your printer, different factors are important in your choice of a high quality professional photo printer. If you are a professional photographer with substantial profit margins you might be more looking at quality, weight and drivers availability, where as if you are a retail outlet you might be more interested in price per print, speed and multiple image sizes. In this newsletter, we are going to try to give you a better idea of the newest printers available to you today: The dye sublimation technology, also call D2T2 or photo thermal printing offers true photographic quality prints. When compared to other digital printing technologies, there is no comparison. The thermal printers and media use a totally dry process and in-printer lamination that minimize time delays, hassles and cost of post-lamination. You get traditional print quality: vibrant color and smooth continuous tones with great shadow and highlight details. Those thermal prints also have the stability of traditional photographic prints. There is now a wide selection on the market when it comes to Digital Professional Photo Printers. We have selected 4 companies which offer high quality photo printers at competitive prices. The 4 printers we are looking at today are the Kodak 6850, The Mitsubishi CP-9550DW, the Sony UP-DR150 and the ICI Olmec OP610. (To read complete version click here) |
